Elevating Jewish Life in North Orange County

We believe in the value of Jewish experiences as well as the search for committed spiritual practice to be sources for personal and community transformation.

We believe in the value of Judaism to help us live lives with more Joy, Compassion, Empathy and Meaning.

Coloring Jewish Life Since 1964

Temple Beth Tikvah provides a community where you can connect with your soul (tikkun ha-nefesh) while discovering ways to extend acts of loving-kindness (gemilut chasadim) and promote justice in our world (tikkun olam).

Here in Southern California we are in one of the entertainment capitals of the world. Each day our lives we are offered a multitude of choices between activities and opportunities. It’s hard to know where to invest our time and focus. At TBT, we assist you in discovering a sanctuary amidst this chaotic world—a space to explore deeper significance in your life and evolve into the best version of yourself. By honoring the insights of our past, we accompany you in gaining a deeper understanding of the present while preparing you and your family for a bright and optimistic future.

Learning

Temple Beth Tikvah is the definition of a learning community. We offer learning opportunities for all ages ad stages year-round, on weeknights and weekends. Our courses will challenge you to think in new ways about the past, present, and the future of the Jewish people.

TBT offers classes on Torah, Hebrew, literature, history, and the arts. Each year, academics and rabbis visit Temple Beth Tikvah to offer lectures, teach classes, and serve as scholars-in-residence.

Prayer & Worship

Our devoted clergy offer a dynamic blend of worship opportunities that always encourage the participation of the congregation with our excellent musicians. On any given Shabbat you can hear piano, violin, flute, guitar and more! We pray using the Union of Reform Judaism's prayerbook: Mishkan T'fillah, but also incorporate traditional melodies, prayers and readings from Chassidic, Carlebach, and Israeli composers and writers.

We Stand For

Spirituality

We believe that prayer, meditation, music, and joy are bridges that help us deeply connect with ourselves, each other, and with G-d.

Wisdom

We are passionate students and expert arguers! Torah is often compared with a spring of life and so, in the study of Torah, we find strength, growth, and renewal.

Community

In a world overwhelmed by communication but filled with isolation we seek deep connections. We create a "we see you space." We are partners, we are here for and with each other.

Tikkun Olam

We acknowledge our moral obligation to be aware and engaged.  We recognize brokenness and pain in our world, which pushes us into actions that increase compassion, justice, and love.
